Netscape and Hebrew
This page explain how to configure Netscape 3 for hebrew, for info about
Netscape 2, Click here.
Under X-Windows
- In Netscape
- Go to Options in the menu
- Choose General Preferences
- Choose Fonts
- In the For the Encoding section change to User Defined
- In the Use the Propotional Font choose any 8859-8 font
- Do the same in the Use the Fixed Font
- Now back in Option in the main menu
- In Document Encoding choose User defined
- Now it should work...
P.S. There is a bug and sometimes netscape lose it's font configuration
when you go forward and backward.
Under MS-Windows
- Download Hebrew Web fonts for Windows
- Run this font package in your temp directory
- Go to main group
- Double Click Control-Panel icon
- Choose Fonts
- Choose Add
- Choose your temp directory
- Choose install all
- Now In Netscape
- Go to Options in the menu
- Choose General Preferences
- Choose Fonts
- In the For the Encoding section change to User Defined
- In the Use the Propotional Font choose Elron propotional font
- In the Use the Fixed Font choose Elron fixed font
- Now back in Option in the main menu
- In Document Encoding choose User defined
- Now it should work...
